I have a dear friend, in her early fifties. She has worked her whole life to and finally has purchased her dream home. I took a trip to visit her in south Texas and see her new home. No expense was spared from the landscaping to the interior. Lavish art work, wonderful furnishing. It was all there. She took me on an extensive tour of the grounds; then all the rooms, she showed me all the art works, and antiques collected, and other keeps sakes. When finished, she took me out side, to the back patio, where she set and enjoyed a cigarette in the shade, why don’t we go inside I said, Oh NO she grasp, there is no way I would ever smoke in my house, I don’t want to smell it up, or take a chance anything would get burned or soled. I have worked all my life for that house no one will ever smoke it she said, as she took a long satisfying drag on here cigarette, nope no one is smoking in that house. I thought for a moment and I pondered and thought some more, and realized it is too bad my friend loved her house much more than she loves her own body. That for me was an eye-opening reality. I realized that, that was how humans were in general, most love their homes, their cars, there DVD collections more than there cared about their own bodies, or their own mind. My friend didn’t thing trice of smelling up and polluting her own body, but would fight you if you tried to do that to her home. You know, blow smoke in my face, and just don’t blow it on my new sofa.
